Following the Redmi Note 7, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T (the European version of the Note 8) takes the right ingredients from its predecessor to keep its title as the best smartphone in its series (except for the Pro versions). Thanks to its qualities, it offers a homogeneity rarely found compared to its rivals, combining an efficient camera, a long battery life and a liquid that is hard to overlook. In fact, only its amplified version can claim to be more interesting.
For performance, it is equipped with a Snapdragon 665 with 4 GB of RAM. This duo allows for one of the best performance levels in the field. Whether for your daily tasks or gaming, it should please you… as long as you’re not greedy. If you overload it, it might even show some weaknesses, which is not uncommon for models in this price range.
The display is a 6.3″ FHD IPS panel. It takes up 82% of the surface. Its calibration is efficient and does not require any parameter setting. As a bonus, its high brightness makes it comfortable to use both indoors and outdoors.
For the photo, you have a photo module that consists of 4 different lenses: the main 48 Mpx lens, a wide-angle 8 Mpx lens, a macro 2 Mpx lens, and the last 2 Mpx lens that acts as a depth sensor.
The main version uses Pixel Bining, which improves image rendering by combining 4 photo pages into one. This favors the results of this module, which is quite effective during the day. The very wide-angle lens is just as good, but the same can’t be said for the macro lens.
Night shots taken with the secondary lenses are not very useful. So if you want a suitable image, prefer the main module. This is a recurring problem with all models in this price range.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T 64GB or with 128GB.
For storing all your files, you are entitled to 64GB or 128GB of storage. Both capacities are expandable via the dedicated microSD port (provided you only use one SIM card).
Its endurance is correct, but lower than that of the previous version. However, with normal use, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T 4+128GB Starscape Blue will easily last 2 days, but if you use it more intensively, don’t expect it to last overnight.
